The Writerly Sibling Tag!

Hey look another tag that nobody technically tagged me in! But I was looking for blog post ideas and was sent this one by Nicole, so I will thank her anyway. Thanks, Nicole! I owe you one.

I have no other words in my brain, so here we go!

Las Reglas parra Tag:
Regla Uno:  Thank the blogger who tagged you and provide a link to their post. (see above)
Regla Dos: Answer the inquires, including any added ones by means of "Regla Seis".
Regla Tres: Always use your own characters. No exception, unless you don't actually have sibling characters (in which case you need to go write up some) or you don't write (in which case you need to start ASAP).
Regla Quatro: Tag three other bloggers.
Regla Cinco: If you happen to have any siblings who blog, they are automatically tagged and cannot count towards your three.
Regla Seis: Add one question or prompt to the list of questions the person before you answered relating to siblings and/or characters. Answer the question, and provide a list of all the questions of that you answered so far
(So, for example, someone I tag will have 11 questions to answer, one of which will be their own. The next will have 12, 10 of which are mine, 1 of which is the previous blogger's, and 1 of which is there own. The next person will have 13, and so forth....)
Regla Siete: Close out the post making some statement or other glorifying the King of kings.

Name the most annoying sibling character in any of your stories (Either annoying to you as the author or to any other characters)
*laughs* This was a while ago, but I created a brother character whose only purpose was to be annoying. And he did it well. His name was Jack. He was my two sister protagonists' older brother, and yeah, basically he just played Angry Birds and made annoying brother comments. But I guess he was annoying in a lovable way?

Name the most caring sibling character in any of your stories
Elissa from Crash and Burn. In the original draft of the novel, Elissa was just mentioned in passing as Lexie's older sister, and nothing more was said about her. But as the drafts progressed, she became more important, and in the finished novel, she has a major spotlight moment toward the beginning of the third act. She is there for Lexie when Lexie needs an ear, and she just came out way more awesome than I was ever expecting! I love her. <3

Gimme a second to get off-topic. Even just reading through the questions for this tag I realized I needed to write a ton more sibling characters, because most of my protagonists are only children for some reason, or their siblings aren't important in the story?? Who have I become??

Name the most entertaining sibling character in any of your stories
Demi and Darien from Javi and the Boats in the Sky. I'm giving you both of them instead of just one because it's together that they really shine. They're twin catfolk, and they argue all the time. I'm pretty sure I was low-key inspired(jk, high-key) by Ruffnut and Tuffnut from HTTYD, because that's basically what they act like. They're part of a big cast of characters, so, unfortunately, they also don't get a lot of page time, but I love them.

Name a sibling character who was inspired in some way by an actual sibling
I... don't know why, but I don't think I've ever based any of my sibling characters off my real siblings. I hardly ever base my characters off real people anyway, so that might the why. I never feel like I can fully capture someone's energy and vibe on the page the same way as I see it. Maybe I should practice more? I don't know.

Name the largest character family (talking family, not family tree) in any of your stories
As far as I recall, my biggest set of siblings I've written was- again- a background set. My character Jenny, from my old novel The Keepers, had seven, you read that right, seven, older brothers who played football. Needless to say, she had to put up with a lot. But I don't think she came out any worse for wear because of it. *laughs nervously as I watch her punch someone*

Provide one to three excerpts from your sibling characters' dialog from any of your stories
I can't find a good dialogue bit for Darien and Demi so I'm just going to leave this here:

Javi played cards with Lorne for most of the day, somehow losing every time. Lorne tried to teach him the right tricks to win each hand, but somehow he won every time anyway. Darien and Demi argued about whether he was cheating, hiding cards under the table, so they watched him carefully for five straight games, one above the table, one crouched under, watching his hands in his lap. But no matter how they tried, they couldn't see how he was cheating, if he was cheating at all. Finally the twins parted ways in a fluster, Demi saying he couldn't be cheating, Darien saying he couldn't figure out how he was doing it.

Name three published books which have an amazing portrayal of siblings or family
Aw yiss. *rubs hands*

-The De Lainey family from The Boy Who Steals Houses
-Any family in 100 Cupboards
-The Pevensies from The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe

Name another author's character family that you wouldn't mind jumping into
*chants* De Laineys! De Laineys! De Laineys! De Laineys! Seriously I love this family and while they have their bad moments, they are all endlessly loyal and love one another to pieces. The lovable chaotic energy of their household is so. Friggin. Sweet!

Provide an excerpt of sibling drama or camaraderie from any title (though be sure to credit it)
SPOILER WARNING!! IF YOU DON'T WANT THE LAST LAND OF STORIES BOOK SPOILED FOR YOU SKIP OVER THIS EXCERPT.

This is from the end of the series, when the two main characters are old and have taken different paths in life while still remaining close. It's so darn sweet *cries a lot*

Name two characters from two unrelated books that you feel would make for great literary siblings (whether in terms of getting along, or being a constant head-to-head combat)
Well dang, I had never thought about this. I try not to think about crossovers too much because I always get all depressed that it will never happen. *makes sadness noises* But hmmmmm. How about... Spensa from Skyward and Nimona from the Nimona graphic novel. Because they are both very stabby and would enjoy causing chaos together. XD I would just die for that crossover!

My added question! What sibling trope would you like to write in the future?
Part of the rules is that I have to make up my own question to add to the tag. I don't know if I'm supposed to also answer my own question or not, but I'm going to anyway!

There's a novel that I wanna write(but can't yet because of current commitments to RCOBI lol) where I want a set of brothers. I want them to fight and tussle and judge one another's life choices and just be real. I wanna write them as real and as heartbreaking as I possibly can, and I don't know how well I'll do it, but that's what I want for them. As far as tropes they'd basically be your standard snarky siblings and frankly I am 100% fine with that.

Time to tag! For this I tag:
Rachel @ Rsloft
Julia @ Lit Aflame
Samantha @ Bookshire

And now for my outro, giving all the glory to the King of Kings! Lean on God and he will always have your back, my friends! He believes in you in your highs and your lows and he will provide for you always. Now I must go. Take care of yourselves! Byeeeeee!
